Glyfada is a seaside suburb and municipality of the South Sector of Athens located on the Athenian Riviera. It is the largest of the southern suburbs of Athens and extends from the shores of the Saronic Gulf to the foothills of Hymettos. It is about 14 kilometers from the center of Athens and about 8.5 kilometers from Faliro. Administratively it belongs to the Region of Attica.
In Glyfada there are two marinas, a spiritual and cultural center, sports centers, ten sports clubs among many others, as well as various cultural institutions. Important monuments have been erected in Glyfada, such as the marble statue of Agios Chrysostom of Smyrna in the square of Agia Triada, as well as the monument of Giorgos Seferis and Odysseus Elytis on Lambraki Street.

Glyfada is crossed along its entire length, from north-west to south-east, by Vouliagmenis Avenue, with its almost parallel coastal Poseidonos Avenue and locally in Upper Glyfada by D. Gounari Street. The municipality is divided into two main sections: Ano Glyfada, which includes Terpsithea, Ano Glyfada, Pyrnari, Evryali, Aigli, Aixoni, Dikigorika, and Kato Glyfada, which includes the city center and Agios Nikolaos and is adjacent to the municipalities of Hellinikon-Argyroupoli and Voula. Terpsithea is the northernmost and most densely built-up part of the municipality and is surrounded by Mavrovunia (division of Ymittos), Ano Glyfada and the Municipality of Argyroupoli-Hellinikou.
